One day late. I took the test on a whim anyway. I wasn't expecting it to be positive. Then I saw that ever so faint double pink line... WHAT?!? NO WAY!! So naturally, I had to pee on another to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Two sets of double pink lines starring at me, growing darker by the second. Then I freaked out a little bit on the inside. ANOTHER baby? But my BABY is still a baby... and now we will be out-numbered!
I took a picture of the two test and sent it to my best friend, G. She was there when I found out I was pregnant with B. Then Hubby called. He was leaving work, home in 45 minutes. How was I going to tell him? How could I make it special in 45 minutes when I am still freaking out?!?
Father's Day is Sunday, so I scribbled him a father's day card that read:
(Front) "Being a Daddy sure is expensive! New Camera: $500, New Car $50,000, 4 BR House $500,000, Being an AWESOME Dad...
(inside) AGAIN! ...priceless... Happy Father's Day! (with a stick picture of him holding a camera taking a pic of our two boys with hands on my belly in front of a bigger house and car!)
I stashed that in a drawer as backup in case he read my face and asked what was up. I would give him his father's day card early. But the plan was to keep it a surprize until he left for a funeral overnight. That would give me time to come up with a VERY clever way to tell him.
I played it cool. As soon as he left I started furiously searching for the perfect way to tell him. Finally, it came to me. We always take mini-trips. A weekend at the beach, a day at an amusement park, stay in a hotel just to swim in their pool and jump on the beds! I decided to make him an invitation to join me for a very special mini-trip. Here is the invite:
He is coming home tonight. I don't think I will be able to wait until Sunday to tell him the exciting news!
P.S. I am 5 weeks today! Later this week our baby's heart will start beating! What an exciting miracle that a baby as tiny as a sesame seed has a heart with four chambers and nerve impulses to beat! WOW!
